Justin Steward is a senior at Central Michigan University entering his second season as a camera operator for the Chippewa Hockey Network. Justin has extensive camera experience in a multitude of sports including hockey, football, baseball, softball, soccer, field hockey, lacrosse, basketball, volleyball, rugby, and golf. His journey into broadcasting began in 2013 as a freshman working for Sports Central on MHTV filming studio segments. Since then his role has expanded into producing, editing, graphics, floor directing, and reporting. He earned national recognition in 2016 for a package he produced for the show.
Justin has interned in the sports department at WOOD-TV in Grand Rapids, and he still freelances for them on occasion. He’s also in his second year working for the Chippewa Sports Network, a subsidiary of ESPN3, where he operates cameras, creates highlight packages, runs graphics, and a does variety of other tasks. When not working or watching his beloved Red Wings or Packers, Justin enjoys traveling, reading Goosebumps, watching ’90s Nickelodeon, and playing roller hockey.
