Geoffrey Chiles knew he wanted to enter broadcasting at the age of 16, when he attended a journalism camp, met Shireen Saski, and then spent his high school years muting his TV and doing play-by-play for Red Wings games.
He continued his pursuit of a career in media as an undergraduate at the University of Michigan, where he briefly wrote for The Michigan Daily and worked for campus radio station WCBN while concentrating in Screen Arts and Cultures, and English Literature.
After graduating, Geoffrey worked many jobs as well as covering U-M hockey for Michigan Hockey Net and TheWolverine.com. a Rivals.com site. He enrolled in the master’s degree program in Broadcast Journalism and Sports Communication at the prestigious Newhouse School at Syracuse University, where he interned for the AHL’s Syracuse Crunch and refined his play-by-play. He also hosted postgame shows covering Syracuse Orange athletics on WAER, SU’s student radio station.
He currently works as a Producer/Co-Host for Inside The Huddle, a midday sports-radio show covering University of Michigan athletics on Sports Talk 1050 WTKA, and is excited about the opportunity to call Central Michigan University hockey!
